Organic
Non-GMO
Whole foods
Raw
Halal meat
Fresh fruits

Fresh vegetables

It may seem hard to completely avoid processed, canned, genetically modified, conventionally grown food with preservatives in today’s society, but it can be done!! You absolutely can do it!

Read the ingredient label EVERY time. It is possible to make food without preservatives and other toxins. Many companies do it.

Avoiding ANYTHING that is not a recognizable whole food is a good rule of thumb. Just because something could have been derived from food, does not mean it is was or that it is good for you.

Ask:

How was is derived?
With chemicals and solvents or mechanically?
Are they actually using the version that came from the food, or the synthetic version?

There is almost always a synthetic version because it is cheaper…for a reason.

Eat clean food. The less toxins your body has to process, the more energy it can spend regenerating itself to keep you looking young and actually being healthy – including your immune system!

Spinach – to cook or not to cook? That is the question.

If you are healthy, eating it both cooked and uncooked has health benefits.
If you are unhealthy or have a skin condition, do NOT eat it raw. Cook your spinach.

Why, you ask?

Because the oxalic acid that is present in dark leafy greens is especially high in spinach. Oxalic acid in its raw form inhibits the absorption of some necessary nutrients. Heat destroys the oxalic acid.

If you are trying to heal with food, then you need all the nutrition available for your body to absorb.

For people who are healthy, spacing out the consumption of raw spinach with your other foods may be necessary for maximum nutritional benefits.

Are we saying raw spinach is bad to eat – NO. Just be conscious of the oxalic acid if you are using food to heal or maintain your health. (Which you should be using food as your preventive medicine). The real preventive medicine is food. Feed your gut what it needs to keep your immune system rocking!

Fruit

Fruit is amazing for great skin!! Nature’s nutrition, nature’s healthy snack and it is hydrating!
Is there one magic fruit you should eat every day?

NO! There is never just one thing. Nothing is that magical.

Here are a few tips: (Same goes for veggies!)

A regularly varied diet of all different fruits is best.

Eating fruits as they are in season is a good rule of thumb, but not something written in stone.

Organic

Non-GMO

Raw (anyone surprised by those three things?)

Break out of your comfort zone and try new fruits!

Try eating the peels – Eat a kiwi like you would an apple! (I know, it sound weird, but really good and healthy for you too!) SO MANY nutritional benefits in the rinds/peels/skin. You can look up recipes for banana, citrus, mango rinds, etc. but be careful to clean properly and consume wisely depending on the fruit.

Why is raw fruit so important?

Fruits are abundant in enzymes, vitamins and vitamin complexes, anti-oxidants, minerals, fiber, natural healthy fats, proteins and protein complexes, pectin, the list goes on and on. All of these things are important for your body to keep your body healthy and in perfect working order. Your healthy body also uses all of those amazing health benefits to help nourish your skin, rebuild collagen and elastin, and fight free radicals which all keep sagging skin and wrinkles at bay.
